Link Up To Safe Birth!
The goal of Birthlink, a free referral service in Chicago, is to help expectant
parents make informed decisions toward positive birth experiences, including
nonintervention-oriented childbirth, breastfeeding, and uninterrupted, immediate
infant bonding. Birthlink is a professional network that provides support,
information, and services. Its members include Homefirst Health Services (see
accompanying article); Birthways, labor and postpartum doula service; Heartwood
Center for acupuncture, Chinese medicine, and massage; Aqua Doula, providing
water birth spas; and Whole Health Chicago, a comprehensive medical practice
also providing hypnosis, nutrition, and massage therapy for the childbearing
year.
The Birthlink Community Newsletter highlights the services of members as well
as reporting on recent local, national, and international events and studies.
