GoodGuide provides health, social and environmental product ratings to consumers. A project that spun out of University of California, Berkeley, it offers scientific product ratings for more than 65,000 personal care, household cleaner, and toy products. They rate these items on 160 different criteria, ranging from their contaminants and short- and long-term health effects, to resource use and global warming impacts, to whether there are women on the board of the company.
