Wholeshare’s mission is to streamline the food system and make it easy for people everywhere to eat well and save money. Wholeshare automatically gathers orders from friends, family, and neighbors within a community, increasing the community’s purchasing power and enabling them to buy from the same wholesale suppliers that typically sell to stores such as Whole Foods and Costco.
The thing is, traditional natural food chains have very high infrastructure and operating costs, which means their stores are restricted to areas of high wealth density. For example, Whole Foods can currently service around just 15% of the country. Wholeshare solves this problem by replacing traditional heavy store infrastructure with a network of smaller, lightweight community-based drop points for healthy food.
“By enabling communities to buy directly from natural food wholesalers, we make it easy for families everywhere to get great, healthy food at affordable prices,” says Peter Woo, co-founder of Wholeshare.
Wholeshare believes that families everywhere should have access to local, organic products. Co-op stores, CSA farmers, and community organizations have all formed Wholeshare groups to help their members shop sustainably and bypass a trip to the supermarket. Consumers understand where their food is coming from and can shop by values such as Organic, GMO-free, Vegan, Gluten-free, Fair Trade, Dairy Free, Certified Kosher, and more!
