Brady's Smile
Brady Blaine Hinton was born on March 16, 2006 and passed away two years later on March 16, 2008. During those two years, he endured seven major surgeries and more than ten medical procedures. Brady never went more than three weeks without undergoing medical exams. Despite this, Brady's smile touched everyone who saw it. Through his smile, he taught people that, as his parents put it, "regardless of what you are up against, there is still reason to celebrate. It showed people that no matter what, happiness is a choice."
Now, Annie and Matt Hinton are honoring their son's spirit by creating the nonprofit Brady's Smile. After spending many long days and nights in the ICU, they know what it takes to support little ones and their caregivers. They currently have three programs in place:
Brady's Smile Comfort Bags
These comfort bags include basic items, such as shampoo and toothpaste as well as snacks, drinks, crayons, and paper. You can find out more about them and how you can donate items here: www.bradyssmile.org/programs-bags.htm
Brady Blankets
This program provides newborns and children with homemade fleece blankets. These blankets provide comfort, warmth, and security when children need it most. You can find out more about this program and how you can help here: www.bradyssmile.org/programs-blankets.htm
Music in the ICU (MICU)
This program was created to honor little Brady's love of music. Brady's Smile will provide either crib-side CD players or regular CD players to both the ICU and the NBSCU. Learn more about the program here: www.bradyssmile.org/programs-micu.htm
