Do you have $1 a day that you could dedicate to self-care? If so, get a glass jar with a lid, an envelope, or a box that latches and put $1 in everyday.
On January 1, May 1, and September 1, take your “self-care savings” and drive to the nearest DAY SPA. You have just bought yourself a full-body relaxation massage, including tip. In addition to this massage, you can lounge in a white fluffy robe and read a magazine. You can bake in the sauna, drip in the steam room and mediate in the jacuzzi.
Leave your cellphone, your day-planner and your mental to-do list behind. This is your time to renew, restore, refresh and revitalize.
This day happened to me, quite by accident. A free massage was gifted to me and I chose the spa location. My husband took all three of our young children for the long afternoon. They all thrived, and I soared. At the close of my afternoon, I wished the same indulgence for each of you, and I began the mental math.
$1/day will get you this spa experience every four months, which may seem far and few between, but will definitely make a difference to your mental, physical and emotional equilibrium.
The first step to actualizing restoration you can count on is putting it on a reoccurring schedule!
p.s. This is an estimation based on a $100/massage with a $20 tip at a day spa which allows access to amenities with a booked appointment.
