25 Children's Books That Depict Breastfeeding

We recently asked the Mothering community to share kids' books that depict breastfeeding and were thrilled by the response. We could not include all of the wonderful suggestions here, but we have pulled out the top 25 most highly recommended with some comments from those who suggested them. Some of these books discuss breastfeeding itself but many simply show the normal act of nursing within the story itself. Enjoy!

Don't forget one of my family's favorite: The Biggest Bed in the World by Lindsay Camp.
Love this! I've pinned it to my attachment parenting page on Pinterest and plan to look for them at my library. Thanks!
~Alicia
Our family also loves "We Like to Nurse" by Chia Martin.
Um, I'm not sure where NTnaturalist's comment is coming from, because I see lots of babies from lots of backgrounds. I see African American, Asian American, Chilean, Latina and perhaps Native American, plus lots of multicultural covers and some that aren't even humans much less caucasian ones. I love that Mothering usually works pretty hard to be inclusive.
My kids loved The New Baby (an Usborne book: http://www.usborne.com/catalogue/book/1~EY~EYFE~1688/the-new-baby.aspx) that has a mama nursing her new babe too. :)
Don't forget The Best Gifts, by Marsha Skrypuch and Halina Below.
A book for all ages that depicts breastfeeding, baby wearing and cloth diapering. A Mother's Worth: Celebrating Motherhood.
