Action Alert: Sign the MomsRising Petition Asking Our Leaders to Support Breastfeeding

Despite the fact that major medical institutions, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, recommend breastfeeding exclusively for the first six months, both Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann and Sarah Palin have criticized the government's efforts to encourage breastfeeding. 

If ever there was a bi-partisan issue -- this is it! Research shows that breastfeeding provides positive health benefits for both mothers and children.  And increasing rates of breastfeeding would save us approximately $13 billion per year in medical costs.
