Backyard Spa Day! Sky Is The Limit...

Never To Young To Spa

A group of us have been meeting at park days and taking field trips together with our kids for over two years now. Each season brings different needs from the children and different offerings from the mothers. Recently, we began a series of Momma Workshops wherein once a week, a mom from our group would bring a presentation to share with the children.

One of our mothers is an aromatherapist and decided to create a Spa Day. Of course, all of the moms in the group were thrilled with this idea. Our excitment was contagious and the children eagerly sat in a circle to learn the healing properties of the various ingredients.

Amanda of www.AuntVis.com

Our momma leader for the day, Amanda, brought in essential oils and various carrying agents. She taught us how to make bath salts, salt scrubs and aromatherapy spritzers. The children got to choose three essential oils that resonated with them, add it to the salt, blend it and package it in a jar to take home.

Mixing Bath Salts

The children also mixed the face mask ingredients together and helped slice the cucumbers. We took turns applying the masks and the moms got a treatment as well.

It was an inspiring day that will never be forgotten. There are many ways to enjoy a Spa Day!

You can do this or any Momma Workshop! Ask your friends, or make new friends! Rotate houses or use one house that lends itself to the nature of the gathering. Potluck & share costs for supplies. It works well to set it on a reoccurring schedule: “First Saturday of the month,” “Second & Fourth Tuesday,” or “Every Friday.” Enjoy!

Love,

Jessica

what a great memory jess! thank you so much for posting this. it was so much fun. looking forward to doing something similar again. this time maybe we can make bubble baths and shower gels!
Oh, happy day! And what a lovely remembering!
A wonderful idea! We're thinking of doing something similar in the spring at one of the beaches here. Big Talbot Island has natural mineral and clay deposits, so our homeschool group is going to have a mud bath day for all who love to slather in a full body mask. I will, for these surprisingly cold Florida days, take this idea to our group. The salt baths are especially appealing, all those lovely healing qualities... Thanks Jessica!
