Hello, My eight year old son has somewhat sporadic bouts with asthma and allergies. It's not a constant problem, but it flares of occasionally. Do you recommend the vaccine for someone like this?
I generally do recommend the flu vaccine for anyone with problematic asthma. Your child's asthma sounds like it's not too much of a problem? If he's tended to get through illnesses and past flus without too much trouble, then he'd probably be fine without the flu shot. But if the flu has hit him hard in the past and created a troublesome asthma flare, the shot would be a good idea.
