Multicultural Families Forum Guidelines
The variety of family structures at MDC lends itself to the term multicultural. Our community is made up of many nationalities, religions, ages, colors, ethnicities, philosophies, affectional orientations, economic groups, lifestyles, and family structures. The intent of this forum is to be welcoming of all cultures and nationalities, everyone is welcome to offer support and delve into the vast issues that shape our familial experiences.
We wish to host threads that are supportive, respectful, and informational. This can be achieved by the sharing of ideas and experiences. To uphold this purpose the board will not host discussions of debate or criticism. Disagreements about culture, race and religion should be set aside out of respect for the diversity and varying interpretations and beliefs that we hold as a community.
While we will not restrict discussions to persons of the race or culture being discussed, we will be active in discouraging posting from individuals who have no interest in participating in a meaningful discussion, are posting for the purpose of disagreement, or are attempting to prove a concept or a belief to be wrong, misguided, or not based on fact. Proselytizing, to convert members to another definition of race or culture, will not be permitted. Controversial subjects of discussion related to race and culture can be found elsewhere on the internet and we invite you to seek out other sites for that purpose.
It is our wish that the Multicultural forum be a supportive and welcoming atmosphere for everyone. Please help us achieve this by doing your part and adhering to our guidelines. And as always, please make sure your posting is in accordance with the MDC User Agreement.
