Working And Student Parent Forum Guidelines

A note about terminology:     This forum is called "Working & Student Parents" and is devoted to those special issues related to caring for and raising our kids while trying to balance a home business or work outside the home.  The term "working" may suggest to some that those who are SAHM full time are not considered as "working". We all know this to be untrue. However, our language does not provide a useful and accurate term for those mothers who have major responsibilities outside the family as well as within it. The term "employed mothers" excludes both... read more

Spellcheck

If you hit "command" or "control" and right click your mozilla spell check should work.   And for those using a Mac (who for whatever ungodly reason don't have secondary click set up ) do ctrl+cmd clicking instead of your normal ctrl clicking. (Credit Mackenzie for the Mac explanation) read more

Multiquote On The New Mdc

Description by the developers, as quoted by JessicaS,     Quote: To multi-quote, first select the posts you would like to quote and then finish it off by clicking the "Quote" button on one of your selections.  This will pull those quotes into your reply box.  Right now, we don't have the ability to toggle off a single multi-quoted post but if you click the "Clear" button on the reply box, that will clear all of our selections.  We're working on the toggle option too!   read more

Add a post below if you'd like to join, and let me know if you'd like a certain week for your spotlight. Week of September 26:Neuromancer! Week of October 3:... read more

Welcome To The New Mothering Dot Community

Welcome to a More Beautiful MDC I know that change can be unsettling, but I've learned that it is a fact of life and essential in business. What you see here is our new community software platform designed by Huddler. As you may know, in 2008 we undertook the redesign of the website and completed it in mid-2009. At that time we began to want a design for MDC that was more visually compatible with the new site design, and more beautiful in general. Huddler first approached us in 2009 and we were excited about their clean design and about the ability... read more
