Almond Flour Cookies

Recently I’ve been cutting down on grains and I LOVE this Almond Flour Cookie recipe. There are few things better than enjoying a crunchy, chewy cookie with a cup of tea on a rainy night. When you buy them in bulk at your local health food store, you’ll save big time. No need to purchase almond flour from Amazon or spend $11 on a little bag at Whole Foods. The most important thing to... read more

Connecting Cultures through Cookies

Peiling, Stock Free Images Here’s a fun story to help non-Muslim children learn about Eid al-Fitr – the celebration taking place at the end of the Ramadan fast.  In Indonesia, this celebration is called Lebaran, or Idul Fitri. This story is based in part on my experience living in a one room house with a family of 6 Indonesians for 4 months in a remote village in West Kalimantan. Together with my host family, I baked (and mostly ate) countless Lebaran cookies. What similarities can your child find to how your family celebrates special... read more
