Areas of specialization: Choosing and using baby slings and baby carriers; babywearing safety and proper positioning; benefits of babywearing; nursing and babywearing.

Jane McClintock is the mother of three children, 8.5, 6, and 3.5 years old, and the owner of QuirkyBaby.com, which specializes in baby sling and baby carriers. Jane started her adventures in babywearing nine years ago when she read The Baby Book by Dr. Sears and first heard the term. She got lots of babywearing practice with her first baby, who simply refused to be put down -- ever. Once Jane mastered her first ring sling and pouch, it was on to hard-framed and soft structured carriers, hip carriers, mei tais, and wraps. Babywearing became even more of a necessity with the birth of her second child, who suffered from reflux and needed to be held and nursed in an upright position. All three of her children have loved being worn as much as Jane has loved wearing them. Jane's love of babywearing led her to launch QuirkyBaby over five years ago. She has helped many hundreds of people meet their babies' needs to be held while still allowing the parents (or grandparents or other caregivers) to be hands-free to get things done. She also established the Central New Jersey Babywearers' group. Jane is an advocate for babywearing safety and is the founder of the Babywearing Safety page on Facebook, dedicated to educating parents about the differences between safe and unsafe carriers and how to use slings and carriers correctly with vulnerable newborns and young babies.
