Sometimes I read these and think- wow would people be lining up to get this item???

Only a few years old. Purchase price $1300. Its my friends couch who is moving far away and doesn't have the room for it in the new place. Its 2pcs with ottoman.

HOWEVER, it has dog pee stains at the bottom of the couch. And 1 laundry detergent stain on the top of it. She's tried to scrub clean. She thinks if you professionally clean it it should be fine but never did so because her dogs would pee on it again. Also, she is a smoker. She has moved most of her stuff out and needs this out by tonight or tomorrow afternoon NO LATER. So, if you are serious about this and you have the capability to get it out by tonight or tomorrow afternoon and are ok with a pee stained and smoked on couch...email me...if not please don't waste my time.

Share yours!

Well I feel better about my lazy-ass cleaning everything with a damp cloth methods. Lysol as a cleaner.

Hey Poxy, how about saving up the included thongs and crocheting a rag rug?

There are plenty of double-take worthy postings on my Freecycle, but that's the point: keeping weird stuff out of landfills and finding it a good home.

One man's trash is another man's Zatarain's with cheese.

This one was quite bizarre to me, I don't remember it exactly verbatim, but I remember the main ideas. I really hope no one is offended by it.

WANTED: over-sized stuffed animal.

I am looking for a really large stuffed animal for my deaf Chinese grandson. I think he would really enjoy it. Any animal would do, but I think he would really like a panda (duh, Chinese). Thank you in advance.

I know. I really didn't make up the "duh, Chinese" part.

This was on a local list I subscribe to today:

We are moving abroad for 3 years, and are looking for a home by April 26 for our king-sized bed, to be returned to us when we return in 3 years. It's a 6-year-old, plush-top, king-sized bed frame and mattresses (no headboard), with waterproof cover, in great condition. Wanting it to go to a home in which kids won't bounce on it. We have pets, so although it's been covered with sheets, it can't be considered pet-free. E-mail for photos or to ask questions.

So apparently they will loan you their 6 year old mattress for three years.

I once saw maternity undies posted on my local freecycle. I was preggo at the time and responded in a hormonal stupor, but then decided better.

When I was new to Freecycle, I posted to get rid of our donkey. I was very honest, said he was cranky and needed someone with time to work with him. To make a long story short, we found him a very good home, but I had lots of people reply to me and say it was the oddest thing they had seen on Freecycle!

I used to wonder why people gave away expired formula and why people would want it. One of my clients at my old job told me that dealers use it as a base for an illegal substance that I won't name because I don't want to get into trouble on MDC.

Yep, that..

It can also be used to create beach scenes.. (as sand, of course in boxes or jars)..

Someone who likes to tinker. Someone who likes to hoard and enjoys stubbed toes. Someone practicing repairing tvs and other appliances.

Our local FC occasionally has requests for small (or not) broken appliances or electronic items. If someone is learning how to repair broken clocks, it helps to have a broken clock on hand, y'know?

I just recently saw a listing for gay porn. The ad said something like, "I am a straight woman, and thought I might like this because two guys together kind of turns me on, but I forgot how BAD porn is. It's so depressing."
Then she said, "no creepy weirdos". Who is going to pick that up who isn't a creepy weirdo???

Just saw this:

I am looking for a really good serger in excellent condition. In trade, I am offering a wonderful vacation package including 4 days and 3 nights in South Florida, 3 days and 2 nights in Orlando, Florida, and 2 night cruise to the Bahamas. Package includes rental car, hotels, meals and 2-2day passes to Orlando Universal plus 10 bonus getaway mini-vacations.
Just thought it was a bit odd. Who would give up an awesome vaca for sewing something??

...sounds familiar!

ETA: Whoops, didn't mean to sound insensitive, I just remember some crazy story once upon a time along the lines of "Can you believe this is on freecycle?!". That's great that your donkey found a nice home.

Where I used to live, there was once a post that said, "Wanted: A goat. I don't want to mow my large yard..."

My husband and I laughed about it, thinking it was just so random. The next day, though, "Received: Goat."

That reminds me of the book, Prodigal Summer by Kingsolver.. one of the characters ends up with a farm, and realizes that certain religious holidays usually offer goats with meals, and she knows that particular year that she can breed them in time.. and she is given all these goats for free because no one sees them as having a value and she cleans up.

I've also started scanning my Freecycle list for funny listings. I'm sure I've posted some odd things before . Can't think of any off the top of my head though.

Anyway, these two came up the other day, both from the same person

offer: one Mellita coffee tablespoon for when you make coffee

And

want: white measuring cups

Those are the entire posts. Kind of left me
