I was always told that we were suppose to let the ashes wear off on their own... or until we would normally bathe/shower, but we weren't to go to special efforts to remove them.
So totally not realistic for me.....
Even with the c-sections I am back to fairly normal duties by 2 weeks... Thats all DH has off any way, so I have to make it work.

I abstain from meat on Friday's during lent, Ash Wednesday as well.
I don't completely fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday, but do eat much more simply, when Pregnant.
36 weeks seems so early.... My Dr does them at 39.
The Dr I had with my third let me go till 42, I was trying for a vbac and he said he would go along as long as everything went "textbook".... unfortunately he said no more...
Hmm... I would say that is a personal prefference of his, as no one that I know uses incense at home on a daily basis... perhaps on special occasions ie. Easter, but not on a daily basis.
