Welcome to the Puget Sound! Grant is a great school of the arts. Also there is Washington Hoyt which is a wonderful school in the North End, by the Wheelock Library. Also, there is the Tacoma Village School which is a parent run co-op school. Head up to the Proctor Farmer's Market on Saturday's for fun, entertainment and yummy food. Also, massage therapy might be another avenue to try.
There are pools through Metro Parks in Tacoma that offers free swim times. Also, you may want to check with the Clover Park School District to see if either of their High School's offer a free swim program.

I would vote for Cannon Beach, OR as well or anywhere along the Oregon Coast.
