Yes, you can use acrylic.  It won't absorb anything, but since you plan on changing quickly it won't matter.  The best part is they are machine washable.
Snappis are why I pin.  If the third grabber doesn't stay in place, the front of the diaper slips down and exposes your baby's tender areas to the nasty hooks of the snappi.

I used to have a front loader and hated it. Nothing from cloth diapers to regular play clothes came clean. The bearings wore out in seven years and it was more expensive to replace the bearing than to replace the washer with a new one....
I've answered my own question! She is now in Bummis nylon pants. Much better!
