I think I have to stop counting because we just found an apartment and are moving in 13 days! We are probably going to get rid of 2013+ items in just that time & won't have time to count. Good luck all... Have fun decluttering!!
I got most of this stuff loaded up to go to goodwill & then didn't have time. Argh! Oh well... Some of it went to a sis in law and the rest can wait in the car & be added too until next time I'm out.

Ok, you ladies are motivating me, it's time to join this thread! We are moving sometime in the next 3 wks - 8 months (!!!) and probably to a place with waaaay less storage so have my work cut out for me. Especially with 3 kids under 5 & flu season! Counting as I purge is always more fun.
In havent been on here for a while as we've been in limbo but are almost ready to put our house up for sale sometime in feb but aren't sure yet if we're moving before we list or will live here until it sells. It depends if a rental comes up we can afford. We are motivated to move since I'm desperate to live closer to my family and medical care. I hate beig a long drive away from a hospital & an hour from our doctor! Especially in sick season with little kids. :P
This is how we feel, journeymom. Our current home is so gorgeous in any season but it just seems a constant battle to keep it up. I feel like I'm always asking dh to fix or deal with something, or am trying to just ignore it since I know he has limited evening time at home and wants to play with the kids and then decompress a bit from his long work day (he's up at 4:30am to head into the city). I'm looking forward to being in the city again, which is a surprise since I...
Well it looks like it's time for me to join in! We moved into our current home June 2011 and adore it but dh just can't handle the commute and huge amount of lawn & house maintenance involved with it. Once we get a plan in place with our realtor & have everything ready to show, we'll be putting this place up for sale and renting in the city he works in (an hour away). He's super excited at the thought of being able to bike to work in under 1/2 hour, which is our limit...
Are you able to move the papers out of the kitchen and have it be more of a food prep area? Or have a single area papers are allowed & not let them out of that area unless in use? I've done that by putting a multi-drawer unit I got from Costco in my dining room, with lots of thin drawers, for the kids papers, pens, coloring books, etc. They draw & write a lot so it keeps it sort of under control as long as it's used. I also take digital photos of cool photos or notes...
