Thank you so much for answering. I've done a lot of research and it looks like you are right. It has now been a couple days and there is no more redness so I guess we'll just have to wait until the hole scabs over. I'd never seen a tick that big before. Bleh.
We went walking by the river today around noon and when I undressed DD for her bath around 6:30 I saw a large tick in her armpit. I pulled it out, I got the whole thing and it wasn't engorged. It's not the first time this happens since we like walking in nature. But the other times there wasn't a hole this big and no red ring around the bite. This one looks quite dark in the center and red all around with a darker ring of red around the bite site. Could the tick have been...
You are not a dreadful mother, you are human and it sounds that at this point in time your family dynamic is off and something needs to change. You mention that your 3yo is doing things that pushes your buttons... could you be a bit more specific? Maybe I could help. I have a 3yo too ( and two other older kids) and a few months ago I also found myself frustrated, angry and my marriage not so happy either. I decided on a few changes (most were quite subtle actually) and I...
Thank you all. I wish I could get one of the older ones but I haven't had any luck and I really need a mixer so....I'm going to go with the artisan, apple red! :) Kohl is having a sale by the way, add a 20% coupon, the rebate from Kitchenaid (ending today!) and free shipping and I can get it for under $300. I probably can't get it much cheeper than that. I'm ridiculously excited!
Thanks Zebra15... is it powerful enough to handle heavy bread dough? I'd be using it several times a week.
After much agonizing I decided to not replace my dead bread machine and instead would like a stand mixer. They are very expensive though and after a week of reading reviews on various sites I'm more confused than ever. I want it primarily to knead different types of bread dough... which brand and model is strong enough for this without spending a lot if possible? I've read a lot of conflicting opinions.  And of course I'd like to take advantage of any labor day sales...
We got rid of it without surgery but it took a really long time. We went to see a specialist who prescribed an antibiotic which helped a lot. The specialist also recommended compresses of black tea and fish oil supplements. I don't remember how many months it took in the end but it was at least 4-5 months maybe 6 ( and the specialist had warned us that it could take that long... was likely actually). Every night I'd apply the tea compresses for up to an hour (heat a cup...
Is your son learning several languages at a time? If so it might really explain any "delays".
2 of my kids are poor sleepers but that sounds quite extreme. Are you absolutly sure that there isn't a health issue? Did something scary happened to him and could be giving him nightmares? If so are you opposed to put him in your bed for the remaining of the night? How is his behavior during the day? Is he playing and active...smiling, relaxed? You mentioned that he doesn't eat well... what do you mean exactly? Does he fall asleep easily or is that an issue...
DD2 has had 2 bumps on the lower eyelid since dec. 23rd. We applied warm compresses as best you can on a 2yo. The smaller bump is almost gone but the 2nd one that started a lot larger is not. And it's huge. For several days I've applied warm compresses to her eye for up to an hour while she sleeps. At first I thought it helped but for the last 2 days it seems to have not changed so we took her to see the doctor. He is referring us to an eye doctor and he thinks it...
