My 9 week old son has been silently aspirating into the lungs. I have learned that I need to thicken his food for him to be safe. I have checked with tons of doctors as well as two lactation specialists to make sure that this is my only option, so I'm currently exclusively pumping, thickening it with a gel and feeding him with a bottle. This has been an insanely emotional experience since my son did not want the bottle and appears to love being at the breast. I have...
I've been reading a lot about the severe importance of a good diet throughout pregnancy. I've been trying to follow the Brewer diet (I'm still in the 1st trimester), but didn't know if anyone had any links to good information that spoke particularly about twin pregnancies. I've done a little research, but all I seem to find is the extra 300 calories per day and some sources even saying that it is only really important in the second and third trimester. Both of these...
Wow, thanks for the recommendation on doctor. She is actually really close to me. I'm still not sure I'll attempt a home birth (scared of complications, but also really scared of hospital). I'll need to learn first more about what type of twins I have, how they're doing, and more about possible complications (hospital as well as homebirth). Long story short my first child ended up in the NICU as a result of the hospital not listening to me. I have heard that...
I don't yet understand all the certifications, but someone told me that some doctors ex. naturalpathic doctors, sometimes become certified midwives and they are not held to the same legal requirements as licensed midwives. I really don't know much about it, so I may be wrong.
Has anyone used a naturalpathic doctor for a home twin birth? Or does anyone know of a doctor and hospital in Arizona that will allow a mom delivering twins in the hospital to try a waterbirth?
I'm not sure about the number of placentas, but I was told that there is only one gestational sac. (I think they are identical) What is the difference in using a midwife in a hospital versus a doctor? I thought midwifes were not allowed to deliver twins in AZ, is that just as a homebirth? Mainly where we're currently at is although we really want a homebirth, I just am really too scared. I keep reading tons of stuff as to whywe shouldn't do a homebirth with a doctor...
I have discovered that I'm currently 8 weeks pregnant with twins. I know it is still early and there are a lot of concerns, but I wanted to check here for some advice. I was originally hoping for a home water birth with a midwife (I currently don't have a doctor), but upon learning about my twins I know the midwife homebirth is out unless something happens to one (I'm aware of high risk of miscarriage etc). I'd love to have a homebirth (really really bad experience with...
