I'm another one that hasn't gone through that and I can understand wanting a vaginal birth.  I don't think I would try for one in your situation though.  IMO, the benefits of a vaginal birth don't outweigh the risks.

How often are you changing him?    It could be how he pees.  I feel like babies who do little pees over a period of time tend to leak less than babies who hold it for awhile and let it all go at once.  Even so...
Is a swing a possibility?  My first would nap in a swing, but not really anywhere else, but on me.  (Somehow I lucked out with my next two being able to nap on their own and I am constantly amazed and impressed by it!)
I think you are fine to try it.  My 7 week old can sit in the Bumbo and be face-out in a baby carrier.
