I have no idea what it's like to not find out.  I'm having a really hard time waiting until our u/s at 18 weeks so I definitely don't have the patience to wait until the birth!  Honestly, the thought of going into the u/s and not being able to find out (like if LO doesn't cooperate) makes me so anxious! :)  So I can't help with your 2nd thoughts but I think the envelope idea is a good one!  It would be fun to share at Thanksgiving if you decide to that.  Or maybe just...
rockdoctor, I'm not anywhere near you but I know the feeling of needing some interaction. I finally just did an internet search for mom groups in my area and ended up finding a group.  I will meet a few of the ladies this weekend actually.  Hang in there and keep looking!   How is everyone?  We've been quiet lately.  DH took Lake to gymnastics yesterday morning.  It's like a huge indoor playground and they have classes for toddlers.  It was the first time they went...
Wow, what an awful situation!  I'm glad that your friend was ok but she definitely handled things in the wrong way.  I think you need to look at this from her perspective before you decide what to do.  I'm assuming she's single so care of her DD falls on her ALL THE TIME.  My DH helps so much with our DS and I couldn't imagine not having him to turn to when I've lost patience.  If she has no SO or family to help her on a regular basis then I can understand her getting to...
I hope everyone starts to feel better!  Sara, those boots are very cute! They look really comfortable too.  I need to buy some boots for the winter as well.  Everything I've seen has a short heel though and I can't manage that while pregnant.  I haven't started any Christmas shopping yet but I've got ideas at least!  That is a huge improvement for me.  And it's nice to actually have extra money for gifts this year.  We didn't last year and it was tough!
I also like the new forum.  nerdymom, that is a great idea!    So I've got heartburn now, pretty much every day.  It's not as bad as last time so that's good at least.  And I've been feeling the baby a little more consistently. :)  DH has been fixing up the house the last few weekends.  This weekend we started rearranging DS's room and our office.  I also went through my closet and put away all the clothes that were too small and brought out my maternity stuff. It...
I like this thread!  It made me think of how I want my life to look and I also realized that I don't have any current goals.  Maybe that is why I have felt sort of aimless/restless lately.   in 5 years -have $30,000 in savings -own our own home -be a nurse or on my way to becoming one -be a stronger Christian, starting with daily devotions (thanks for the tip youngspiritmom!)   current goals -make home my own (We are renting from DH's parents and I've...
I would love it if I could avoid the porno boobies!  Last time I went from a small C to double E's! I didn't even know they made bras that size.  And of course when I weaned DS, they quickly deflated down to small Bs.  I really just want them to stay the same! There is nothing worse than leaving the house thinking everything is covered and then 2 hours later when the milk fills up and I am falling out of my shirt.   Oregonicmama, hope you can get some sleep!...
jennifer, hope you can get some relief! kapow, I don't know if my milk actually "came in" today but I felt the letdown reflex. I've had colostrum pretty much from the start. I weaned DS in the spring and even though my breasts felt 'empty', I noticed dried milk in the mornings for a loooooonnnnnggg time after. So maybe that is why things are happening so soon for me.
Lol, Kikakika, that video is hilarious! That is a great idea though! I'm going to get one for Lake and also his 2 year old cousin. Thanks!
I bought a couple shirts at Target the other day. My MIL is a thrift store junkie and she has found some GREAT items for me. Name brand stuff in really good condition. I don't have the patience for shopping so I'm really thankful that she loves to do it! Speaking of colostrum... I actually felt my milk come in about an hour ago. I was not expecting that AT ALL so it's good to know that 15.5 weeks isn't too early . (I'm 16w1d today).
