Lake, I think what you have done as a family in raising this child is awesome. You are a good mama!!! My first thought when reading was, "How could the mother do that?" But then I stopped myself. I've never been addicted to anything (except chocolate) and in the media today, I bet we could google search and find a mother who did so much worse before I had breakfast this morning. At least this woman took the baby to a doctor's office and walked away. The story could...

I've gotten so many Valentines from list three but NOTHING from list one and ours went out weeks ago. I'm wondering if list one is just totally inactive. :( Still got time though so maybe Saturday will just be a flood? lol Jen

Dougal Dixon also has done an entire series on dinosaurs. The last 2 pages of every book is the same which was a little frustrating for DS but the information was solid. We spent a couple of months at the library reading them all. :)

Ah, the dinosaur obsession!!! We've been here for 3 years now. Netflix - the BBC "Walking with Dinosaurs" was a favorite for a loooong time. There's also a sequel with an allosaurus, I believe. Actually, I'm pretty sure we've now seen every single dinosaur thing on Netflix. National Geographic has a gorgeous dinosaur encyclopedia. That was a winner for an Xmas present this year. Magic Schoolbus has a kit and books. There are lots of dinosaur kit...

The mailbox is going to be full this week!! We are almost done with list 3. They'll all be flying out tomorrow. Thanks for all the work, mamas. The kids are going to have a blast. We've got two envelopes in their little homemade mailboxes right now and it's killing my kids. One of the envelopes has a mysterious bulge. The other envelope, my DD SWEARS must be the princess fairy Valentine she loves because the "enbelopelooksjustthesame!" It makes me laugh...

How did your week go, Craft? We had a pretty good one. Quiet. Restful. The kids got these Vtech learning laptops (with really crappy screens that make me laugh) but the "computers" are packed with word games. It's really hard for me to interrupt them when they are so proud because they figured out how to spell "school" or something. They are both desperate to read and they are both so.darn.close. We've got finish up science and history this weekend and get...

We did Calvert for a year and I really think you'll find it's not too much. If anything, it's a little light on academics. It LOOKS like a lot when the boxes come but it's really, really basic. So if secular is really important to you, don't rule Calvert out.
