meemee - excellent suggestion, and thanks to everyone for the input. I think I get "stuck" on trying to get her "UNstuck"! I get too focused on helping her feel better right away, rather than just being with her in her discomfort. It's so hard to see her unhappy, so my instinct is to try to fix it. I was an anxious kid, so I try to remember that the worst part of it (for me at least) was how isolating it feels to be freaking out about something and be totally alone...
