I would try motion to get him to latch. You could cradle him or hold him upright, dance walk or sway. Some moms gently jiggle baby. If you babywear try to nurse in the carrier while moving about.
I haven't read the entire thread but pertaining to the titer question, it may have been that the titer result was not within the accepted value range. Meaning there may have been antibodies but not what would be considered sufficient...
One other idea.....in the northeast there is a grocery shopping service called Pea Pod. There may be a similar type of service provided by a large grocer near you. Shop the site online and it gets delivered the next day. I used it once...
