After reading that thread in which some posted about 20-somethings and their lack of responsibility, I was reminded of this article and how that age bracket lacks resiliency, self-confidence and responsibility due to parents who are too "attuned." What do you think? (It's kind of long, but a fascinating read and eye-opening, to me anyway).

I'll add: Being an active listener (goes along with empathy and understanding another's pov). Handling criticism gracefully. How to make phone calls. . . professional, personal. . .just how to be polite, clear, and take care of business.

This sounds like a great plan! My ds was clipped the first time around your baby's age. I'll be honest and say that it didn't help immediately. It took a while for his sucking to be coordinated, but mostly, that high arch really caused us problems. I continued pumping and bottle-feeding (and nursing when I could, but he wasn't transferring well still) until he was 12 wks. During that time we did CST. At 12 weeks he went to mostly breastfeeding, but I still had to...

I had it clipped along with my baby's tongue tie. It's hard to say which tie was the bigger problem. He also had a high arched palate that took a while to grow into, but it eventually worked out. We did see a cranial-sacrl therapist after the procedure, which I thought was useful. My supply is still touchy though, so I def. recommend keeping up with dom and pumping. I'd do it all again though. I found this blog after we'd gone through our...

Made sloppy joes with ground turkey and beef tonight. I wanted to make them from lentils, but dh is trying to limit his carbs, so we went with meat. For a really quick meal, they were pretty good. Tomorrow I'm making white beans with sausage and kale and putting it over polenta. Dh will be gone this weekend, so I'm trying to figure out what to make that he doesn't usually like. Probably something with shrimp.

The recipe I used was really basic and didn't taste great as written (too short of cook time and not enough salt), but what made it really yummy was partially blending it and simmering it a LONG time. I sautéed several cloves of garlic and a few tablespoons of onions, then added 2 cans diced tomatoes (I'm sure you could use fresh, too), a couple tablespoons of tomato paste, 2 cups of chicken stock, 2 tsp of sugar, and salt and pepper. After it cooked a while, I added...

Us, too. I know more about my parent's situation now. They've always been broke. There have been legitimate reasons (medical issues) and some that weren't (hoarding, nicer cars than they needed, etc.). I know for a fact that my parents intend for their children to take care of them. They have very little in the way of retirement savings (self-employed). We've given financial advice to my parents about retirement and investing (my dh is very knowledgeable), but they...
