OMG. The thought of returning to work and leaving my baby makes me break out in hives. I am dreading it and I don't have to return until next August! I am jealous of strong moms who can do it without having major anxiety.
Burping - my DD never burped. Like, ever. Dexter needs to burp all the time. He will even burp while latched on. LOL If he doesn't burp after eating, he will spit up.
Dexter will nurse on one side for about 15-20 minutes. I will burp him and he will either fall asleep or start rooting around and at that point I will offer the other breast.
Oh and Dexter has started REAL smiling! I am SO IN LOVE.
All I have to say is I am SICK TO DEATH of wearing pads. I hate them. They are starting to irritate my skin and I'm bleeding just enough to still need a thin pad (like really, how much longer is this brownish freakin' blood going to linger??). I miss tampons.
Things are going pretty good!
DH went back to work last week and I was terrified it was going to be really hard but it was actually better being by myself with the baby. I got out of the house just the two of us (I had/have anxiety about leaving the house). Dexter is a dream baby. He lets me sleep in 4 hour stretches at night and never cries. I just adore this little guy so much. He's so laid back. He must get that from his father because I am way too high...
Dexter is a sper noisy sleeper and it took me awhile to realize I could leave him alone and he'd fall back asleep. I also swear this thing (right beside my bed) is making all the difference: http://www.fisher-price.com/en_US/brands/babygear/products/51903. He sleeps in 2-4.5 hour stretches in that thing. Maybe it's the shape? I don't even need to swaddle him. He'll only sleep on and off for less than an hour in bed with me.
Hey does anyone have any experience with this:
Dexter's eye waters quite a bit and it seems to be swollen some of the time, too. I believe it to be a clogged duct of some sort. Anyone know what I can do to heal it without having to go to the doctor?
