Better check first if your friend is allergic just to wheat or has a gluten allergy... if it's gluten the best thing to use would be almond meal or rice flour. Barley, Oats & rye all contain gluten...
Hope that helps...
we travel a lot with our son, he's 5 months so for once I feel like I can offer some advice!
*try to book your flight during the night because you'll find it's easier on you and them (she will still sleep).
*take only 2 or 3 toys and just rotate them, also pick a favorite book to read it tends to be soothing.
*the flight attendants are usually great, if you're flying solo they'll even offer to hold them while you eat if you want (my tip eat before you fly).
Maxwell Thomas arrived on Saturday morning at 8.40am after 40 hours of labour. He weighed in at a hefty 3.9kg and is 52cm long. He is even more wonderful than we expected!
I hope everyone else is doing well.
Well, saw the OB last night. The head is at 0, there's a tonne of amniotic fluid in there and the placenta looks great and he weighs approx. 4kg! I think I took one too many multi-vitamins during the pregnancy! :LOL We're back in on Monday for reassessment and we may look at prostoglandin suppository to kick things along a bit. Sex doesn't seem to be working very well. But who knows what the next few days hold? :
Hope everyone is well and holding in there. Anyone...
Yes, still here too. My "official" due date was the 26th. Have an OB appointment tonight so will see what he says then. He's agreed that he'll do an internal exam this time so we know where we're at. I feel like I've been pregnant forever! I've loved being pregnant but now I just want to hold our baby!
Sending you all good labour vibes!
I'm still here - waaaa! Max was due on Friday, still no sign - but I'm ever hopeful. He's been engaged for 3 weeks and he can't get any lower or he will be out. We had a chat yesterday and I gave him his eviction orders :LOL
Hopefully within the week... I just want our baby in our arms!
You poor Mama... I'm so sorry for you. Big huge hugs...
Can you get home to your family for a break? You need some time to be nurtured for a change and if you have a good relationship with your Mama she's just the person to do it. You need some space for a bit.
I do understand what it's like to be alone, my husband is away for about 2 weeks a month o/s with his work and we already live in a foreign country. It's really hard & really isolating. Can you get your...
Me! I go to bed every night now thinking I may wake up ready to go! I'm not even due until next Friday! Of course the OB has said that he thinks I'll go within the week so I'm putting pressure on myself!
Plus all this prodromal labour stuff isn't very fun - we're all ready - Max is just on a different schedule.
How's everyone else coping?
My DH travels a lot for work (long haul international flights), he was recommended to carry a nasal saline spray with him to keep his nose hydrated. Apparently most of the bugs get in through the nasal cavity because it dries out from the aircon/cabin pressure. Keeping the area moist keeps it functioning properly. Since he's been using it no more colds & flus brought home from far flung places!
We'll be travelling home in December with our newborn (I'm on the final...
