Wow, that dinner sounds fabulous, Ashlee! No ideas, but I hope you can work it out. Jesusfollower, I m with you on wanting new clothes that FIT....but I can't bring myself to buy anything because I feel guilty about spending the money, since we don't know yet if MSP will cover the bills from W's birth ($26,000). I'm a little neurotic about spending money...but all I can really wear is one pair of yoga pants and two skirts, and with all I'm getting pooped on and peed on and...
Oh, my melty heart! Ari still looks SO tiny. What a beautiful girl. Emberly has the most fantastically full lips. Wow! And I can't believe the adorable hair on Owen and Naomi. So cute. Winter is loosing his hair....he has a circle of baldness around his head now, and I'm sure he won't get more hair until around age 2, just like the rest of the babies in my family. Sigh....little old man baby. Gosh, yup, he's so bald!
I agree! I second the swaddling! That's the only way we can DTD. :) DS sleeps really well at night, as long as he's right next to one of us, but really poorly during the day. The only way to get him to sleep is to wear him, which is lovely, but there are *some* things you can't do with a baby on you!   Heather, we do that too! When nothing else seems to work, I strip us both down (except for bra and breast pads....oh the constantly dripping nipples!) and cuddle up. It...
I wanted to stop back in here and update, since I've finished off all my placenta.   I wasn't able to prepare the placenta until the fourth day PP. I cut off the membranes and the cord and washed it until the water ran clean (or mostly so--it took a long time!). Then I cut it up into thumb-sized pieces and froze most of them. DH blended them into fruit smoothies for me, two smoothies per day with two pieces each, for about a week, and one and one for another week. I...
We totally did this too! I'm still surprised DH was ok with it--doesn't everything change when you have children?! Wouldn't those people who think breastfeeding is somehow pornographic have a brain aneurysm if they could see that?!    OT: Amanda, what's the name of the board book you put on the wall for Eli? I really want to find something similar. I'm still a bit tender inside too. Everything just has to heal and make its way back to normal. Just give it some time and...
Wow, Bennypai, it must feel fantastic to see all those tasks done and not have had to worry about them yourself! DH and Winter went with me this morning to get my haircut--baby slept on papa while the ladies cooed over him, and now I feel all cute and happy when I look in the mirror--yay! It's definitely the longest I've gone without baby on me....serious withdrawals! Do you all feel a physical...sort of emptiness, an ache, when your babes aren't attached or nearby? I...
I've heard of this before--it's really made me aware of the sounds Winter repeats, and learning to discern the meanings of his individual cries and sounds. Am I a little insane, though, that what I really notice about this video is, in the section where they have all the mothers and babies together, how many bottles those mothers are whipping out and not a single breastfeeding pair to be seen?? How can a large group of mothers and babies under three months not have...
Ok, my turn for a little photo overload: Drunk baby:   Chubby baby!   Happy baby!   Be warned: dancing with your baby may make him so happy that he giggles!
I didn't manage to get a 3 weeks photo, but here is my 2 weeks post-partum belly shot (excuse the dumb facial expression):     I'm feeling pretty pleased that that giant belly shrunk so quickly!
Me too, I'm really hoping mine shrink back. I loved my little breasts that required no support, no bras, no extra attention, but looked cute just as they were. These big mamas are far too much trouble (especially when you take the dripping milky nipples into account).   I went from 34a to 38c also, but I'm relieved to see you experienced mamas say my bones should go back to normal-ish eventually....but I'm rather bemoaning what to wear until then! After all the ugly...
