Trust me, you'll know when you are in active labor!! Contractions will be very strong and close together. Because my labor was 44 hours I questioned at first also. But I called my midwife right away. That's what she's there for!

I think birthing in a regular tub sounds doable! Go for it. I birthed in a kiddie pool in my living room,and we did have to fill and refill. A bathtub sounds nice and simple.....if you like the small space!!
