Trust me, you'll know when you are in active labor!! Contractions will be very strong and close together.
Because my labor was 44 hours I questioned at first also. But I called my midwife right away. That's what she's there for!
I think birthing in a regular tub sounds doable! Go for it. I birthed in a kiddie pool in my living room,and we did have to fill and refill.
A bathtub sounds nice and simple.....if you like the small space!!
I would lean toward, no. But that's because I have a lot of midwives to choose from in my state.
I say, meet her. Go with your gut reaction. You need to have a trusting and accepting relantionship; that's most important.
I'm a Christian with an athiest midwife. I have no problem with it and neither does she. When we go out to eat, my husband and I pray over our food and she sits in a respectful slience. It's all good sister!!!
