I am writing this for anyone who is going for their own VBAC - it IS possible!   My first baby was a csection at 38 weeks for breech.  Before the section I asked about VBAC and was told I could ‘probably’ have one with my next baby.  It was only when I was actually pregnant with my second baby I found out about the total VBAC ban in my prefecture.  So I went looking and found my answer on the internet.  We found a traveling midwife willing to come and attend my HBAC and...
I had my HBA2C!   My 9lb 6oz baby boy was born at home after 4 hours of intense labour.  Def Def the hypnobabies visualization, affirmations and relaxation made it all possible.  When active labour hit though I went from a 5 to full dilation in about 70 minutes and could not find the head space or time to go limp and relax between so I felt every single pressure wave.  Cannot recommend hynobabies enough though for anyone else going for a VBAC - the VBAC success tracks were...
Going for a HBA2C this fall and was wondering how anyone else did with the hypnobabies self-study course  - esp the VBAC tracks.  Did you find it helpful?   With my last one I went over 42 weeks and caved to the section because of, well, sheer impatience, stalled labour and just could not take another day of the emotional rollercoaster. Did hypnobabies keep you calm and relaxed until the end?  This time round I am SO much more determined to avoid the hospital BUT would...
I found out I was pregnant a couple of weeks ago and that was the motivation I needed to finally night wean my 19 mo old daughter.  Night weaning my son was actually quite easy and though he cried for hours those first few nights,  by a week we were both getting much better sleeps and we were both much happier in the mornings.  My daughter, however, is still constantly waking up crying three and a half weeks later.  It seems every third night or so she will STTN or go...
So glad to have found this group!  Already thinking about my next pregnancy and, as always, with pregnancy comes fears - be them rational or not - about the birth.   DS was a planned section.  sigh. yes, a planned one.  Being naive I believed the dr.s and my midwife when they gave me the choice of killing my child or myself by trying to birth him naturally in a frank breech position or having a section.  I cried all the way to the delivery room.  I cried and cried and...
I am sure you know all about the stats and safety of vbacs after multiple sections.  That said, there are worse things than a repeat section. I spent 2 years doing everything possible and spent a lot of energy fighting the system only to have a section anyway.  BUT the section was great.  I felt good and alert and was feeling physically wonderful only days after.  Schedule a section and back out if you change your mind, or go through with it....no one will think any less...
Do it past 39 weeks or when you are at least 1cm or so.  It is uncomfortable and wont do anything unless your body and baby are ready.  So it could be the push your body needs or it could just be an uncomfortable 5 minutes.  By 40 weeks I had my membranes stripped as much as my dilation would allow every other night and got from a 1 to a 2 with a midwifes help.  It didnt make any difference 4 for me, unfortunately, but I know I did everything to get labour going before...
At DDs 4 week check up they did an ultrasound on her and found that her right ureter at her kidney was enlarged and narrow at her bladder.  (at a 32 week ultrasound in utero they found the same thing hence the ultrasound on her.) The left ureter is totally fine.  She pees fine and often enough that without the ultrasound no one would have ever thought to go looking for this.  She is perfectly healthy, gaining weight, BF only and a lovely, calm baby. BUT I have been...
Not sure where to post this so will x post for as much advice as possible.     At DDs 4 week check up they did an ultrasound on her and found that her right ureter at her kidney was enlarged and narrow at her bladder.  The left ureter is totally fine.  She pees fine and often enough that without the ultrasound no one would have ever thought to go looking for this.  She is perfectly healthy. BUT I have been referred to a specialist to investigate this 'problem'. ...
since she is only three months along you have plenty of time to get a great library going for the new little one.  You can pick up all sorts of great kids books for 25 cents or so at most goodwill or thrift stores.  Make it a point to stop in every time you pass by one.  I added about 60 books to our shelves  for less than 25 dollars just by hunting in all kinds of thrift stores over the course of four weeks. That and a case of baby wipes and diapers - those will never...
