Bleeding in the 2nd trimester is not normal, I'd definitely get it checked out!  Hope it's nothing, but if it is something that needs attention you & your baby can get the help you need.
Thanks for mentioning birthwithlove.com I hadn't been there yet, their prices are good!   I read somewhere that 1st babies usually get head down about 28wks but that subsequent babies don't until about 32wks.    I'm 28wks now & I know this girl (my 4th) has been happily breech the entire time.  For now I'm trying to enjoy the low movement instead of the high near-rib kicks that are sure to come....   I cannot believe I'm in my 3rd trimester now.  The 1st two...
As I was sitting here daydreaming about what I'd love to happen during this birth, I thought, "Hey, that'd be a fun thread to read!"   I know one of the best preparation you can have for birth is to not set up any expectations & just let it be, but we all have our own little thoughts about what would just be awesome, right?  Let's share a little bit, just for the heck of it.  ;)   My dream birth would be.....   ...in the middle of the night.  Well, it can get...
Great thread, I've had a lot of questions about herbs, too.   Has anyone used tea instead of tinctures?  Like Shepherd's Purse tea?  I don't consume alcohol & I'm still on the fence about how I feel about tinctures for medicinal purposes...
ITA w/ mamatoabunch-- I don't have any other way to explain it except that as soon as I knew I was preggo this time, UC was undoubtedly "right" this time, although if you'd asked me about UC'ing my past births the answer was "no way!!!!" (this is my 4th baby, my others were hospital births, one epidural vaginal, one c-section under general, & one med-free VBAC w/ midwife)  I don't feel at peace when I think about birthing at the hospital again, nor about a MW attended...
Have you declined any tests so far/gotten any slack for it?    I got an earful from my concerned pediatrician when I called to see what his protocol was for a baby born w/ an unknown GBS status.  I think it's one of the "bigger deals" than some of the other screens so you might run into some resistance if you haven't run into any before for refused testing.   I've had it done 3 times & I don't think it is that invasive.  Just a quick swab on the vagina swab on...
Hey I'm mamagrits!  I'm not on much but a friend who has UC'd several times led me here when I told her our plans to UC.  I haven't posted much but I've read a whole bunch!  (Especially the birth story thread!)  So ya'll don't follow my example & keep posting!  ;)   I'm due July 10th w/ #4 (who will be my 4th in less than 5yrs).  My 1st (DD) was a traditional intervention happy epidural vaginal birth AKA not a great experience!  My 2nd (DS) I hired a doula & was...
Awesome!  Love that little vernix baby!  Congratulations!!!  (p.s.  I'm LDS, too, or at least I'm assuming you are if your hubby was giving you a blessing.)
My 2nd baby was a c/s & then 13 months later my 3rd baby was a med-free VBAC at a hospital w/ a midwife & my wonderful doula.  My midwives never batted an eyelash about it barely being a year since my c/s that I was VBAC'ing, and this in an area where "once a c/s, always a c/s" is still the norm.  I think 19 months is a good amount of healing time for a normal c/s.  As for an unassisted VBAC, I wasn't ready for that last time.  But obviously I think we are now w/ our 4th...
I currently have pregnancy Medicaid & my children have Medicaid & so will this new baby.  Have any of you had experience w/ this after UC?  I'm wondering if I'll have any issues.  (I'm in GA btw.)   And I guess I'll take the opportunity to quickly introduce myself.  Can't say I'm a lurker b/c I only learned about ya'll a few days ago from a friend.  But this will be baby #4 for us due in July.  #1 was a 100% managed medicated hospital vaginal birth, #2 was an...
