Good gravy, I just assumed they would be available online. That's really silly that you can't buy them online! Do you belong to Ravelry? If you do a search on Ravelry I think there are a few there. I did find these: http://webhome.idirect.com/~quanah/patfelthat.html http://www.knitaddicted.com/html/28.html http://www.berroco.com/exclusives/is.../isabelle.html In the original Etsy link you posted, I really like the band she put around the hat. I wonder if she...
I'm not sure that there is really any way to handle it other than to tell them exactly what is going on and what will happen. My DS was 3 when our dog died of lymphoma. My mom took him to the park and when he came back, the dog was gone. We explained but it was really hard for him. To me, and I know this is socially unacceptable, but the vet came to our house and euthanized our dog. Our other dog was around for this and she had a chance to see that he had...
I am not a very creative person. But, I would like to make food more fun for my 5 year old DS. I suppose one thing we could do is make pancakes and use cookie cutters to make cute shapes... Does anyone know if there is a web site or cookbook that has ideas like this? Or have any ideas for me? Like I said, I'm not creative so I'm having trouble coming up with good ideas. TIA!
Fiber Trends seems to have the classic felted hat patterns... This one is made with one strand of yarn... http://www.fibertrends.com/viewer/patterns/AC02.html This one is made with two strands of yarn... http://www.fibertrends.com/viewer/V5_accessories.html I'm going to make one of these when I have the time. For myself! HTH
You could make little ornaments for next year with them. Or, yo ucould make knitted bookmarks. You could alternate two colors to make a stripey hat, like the "Turn A Square Hat" by Jared Flood whichi s available for free to Ravelry users. That pattern was designed to use up scraps, I believe. You could knit Calorimetry: http://knitty.com/ISSUEwinter06/PATTcalorimetry.html or Quant [URL="http://knitty.com/ISSUEwinter07/PATTquant.html"[/URL] You could knit some...
Do you want something that uses knit and purl stitches, or just the knit stitch? If you want to just practice your knit stitch a lot, I would recommend a roll brim hat. The entire thing is knit stitches (and knit 2 together for the decreases). Here's a pattern for a roll brim hat... http://www.needlebeetle.com/free/rollbrim.htm If you want something that is ribbed and will be more stretchy, this is a link to a hat I have made 3 or 4 times now, and it's super...

I'd like to just dismiss her as a quack, but unfortunately as someone who has had a protracted custody battle, and as someone who nursed my child until he turned 3, my fear is that some poor mama who's nursing her child will have this woman used against her. After all, she is a psychotherapist and the courts depend on experts when it comes to custody issues. I think before anyone formulates an opinion on breastfeeding, much less expresses it publicly, they should all...
I think I am talking bout a situation that is different from what is being referenced here... I'm not a stranger to the kids or their parents. And frequently, the child is either talking to me already, or appears to be formulating an answer, when the adult will answer for them. Or, the child will answer, and the adult apparently feels that the answer wasn't correct and answers for them. Like I said in the original post - a stranger talking to a child can have a...
I can't wait until the thread is started tomorrow to discuss the first chapter. I checked it out from the library (had read it a few years ago) and I guess my perspective has changed considerably since then. So, I'm looking forward to the thread starting so I can get others' thoughts on some things. Should be a good discussion!
