Hi everyone. I feel like I'm in a rut over here. My 12 month old dd is too busy learning and playing during the day to nurse. This is not such a bad thing because I'm going back to work ft in a week and dd refuses to have bm other than from my boob (ive tried everything). Well here is my problem, she needs bm because she is only 12mnths so it's too early to night wean but this means that she wakes up every 45mins or so to nurse and pacify... And I'M a zombie...And I'm...
Hi everyone.  I'm 33 wks pregnant with baby #2 and I can't help but think about what I'm going to do differently this time around.  I have an almost 2 year old DS at home and when I think back.. I wonder how much of our experiences of his first 2 years had to do with his personality vs my parenting.    I ebf with DS till he was about 7 months and fingers crossed that I will do the same with this babe.  I still nursed DS thru pregnancy but had to cut back drastically...
Thank you for the suggestions!  Our nights are here and there now -(some more peaceful than others)  but the good news is that DH has taken over putting DS to sleep and its going well.  Sometimes DS will go to him at night but he usually crawls his way over to me - which I don't mind.  We are goign to experiment with side caring (but our bedroom is tiny and we already have a king sized bed) or DH and DS will start to sleep in DS's room on the bunk bed (as soon as the...
Thank you for this suggestion skycheattraffic.  I never thought of seeing our familt doc instead!  And I actually like her and can relate to her a lot more.  Luckily, DS doesn't have to see a specialist; so it shoudl be no problem. And yes - so far no luck with finding a good ped.  (thats close by anyways).  Have a great day!
Hi everyone.  I've got a question... I night weaned my 22 mnth old a few months ago - it really helped us get the sleep that we were both desperate for (i'm currently 6 months pregnant).  It went well and for a while he was even sttn! (first time since birth).  But now, his waking to pacify has been replaced with him waking to find my arm, chest, or neck to nuzzle into.  Which is totally fine cause I love to cuddle too! And I know that it sounds really sweet - but it...
Hello everyone!  I have a question for all on my fellow torontonians (Happy Labour Day )    I really wish that I could have a more open/ honest relationship with my child's paediatrician (my lo is 21 months and I have another on the way) but she is old, wise and very much stuck in her ways.  She does have a lot of knowledge and she is patient and kind with her patients - but towards me she is condescending whenever I ask her anything out of the ordinary.  Ie, if she...
Thank you everyone as always for the wonderful advice.  My son LOVES avacados!  he will literally eat 1/2 of one every day and has done this since he was very young!  I am looking forward to when my milk comes back in  just so that I can be totally sure that he is getting everything that his diet may be lacking (he can be a picky eater).  both DH and I are lactose intolerant so we don;t drink too much milk... and I'm scheptical as to why humans would need anothers...
Hello everyone!   I am not a HUGE fan of my paediatrician (we have different opinions about almost everything) but she has many many years of experience/ wisdom and is not quick at all to prescribe drugs (which is a hard quality to find these days).  Because of this, I choose to stay with her. My little guy is 21 months and I  am almost 6 months pregnant.  Because of the pregnancy, my body has stopped producing any substantial amount of milk and it hurts like hell to...
Toronto, Canada!
Hi Peony,  what was your transition like?  Did you take a few days (or weeks) to slowly have DH take over the bedtime and thru-the-night routine?
