We all have the same last name. I took my husband's when we got married and our children also have the same last name. Why isn't that a option? Isn't that the most common?
Some of these answers make me weep, especially in this forum. I would never leave my child somewhere they were scared or uncomfortable. I certainly wouldn't leave them with care takers that thought is was not okay for me to be there if he was having trouble transitioning. I get that all kids are different and that some will be sad at the moment of separation but then enjoy the rest of day and they might benefit from not having a parent stick around for too long. However,...
Thanks!  Luckily the teachers at school are pretty understanding. Maybe I should focus on helping him learn to get himself redressed instead of on trying to get him to not take off all of his clothes at school.
Babies naturally suck their thumb.  If he's hungry or lonely he will let you know and as long as you are responding to those needs you have nothing to be concerned about. Which doesn't mean you need to be concerned if it takes a little longer to get to baby #2 then it did to attend to baby #1. It's the babies that are left to CIO and not allowed to nurse on demand that suck their thumbs well past the natural age. Dr. Sears says secure babies/children won't go much beyond...
Me too. They used to be the first place my husband went during foreplay now I have to be completely out of baby mode and completely in moment to not be annoyed by my breasts being touched. Once I'm really ready it still doesn't have the same impact for me as it used to but it feels like part of experience rather then being a total turn off like it does if I'm not there yet.
I kind of felt that doctors' recommendations for breastfeeding mothers to give their babies a multivitamin was an attempt for the formula industry to get at bfing moms and totally uncalled for. Now I feel that what's the harm and it might actually do my baby some good. I bought one at a health food store but am still debating whether or not to use it. The rest of the family takes a multivitamin as well as other vitamins, why not the baby (2 mos). With sniffles abound...
My mom had all 3 of her births naturally at home so complications and interventions were the furthest thing from my mind. I had an amazing doula and after a long labor and unsuccessful pushing I had a cesarean.
My 3 year old has to take all of his clothes off  to poop. It's not such a big deal at home other then the hassle of helping him get his clothes back on but he does it at school too. Luckily he is only in a half day 3 days a week so it doesn't happen often, he tends to poop in the afternoon. We've tried to talk to him about it but he strongly protests. Even getting him to keep his shirt on would be helpful. Keeping his pants on will be a bit more complicated, he climbs...
