Sorry, almost forgot.  There is currently nothing planned in D.C.
Has anyone heard about the birth rally on Labor Day (can't remember if I saw anything about it on here).  Last count, there were 6 states that didn't have a rally yet- Delaware, Maine, New Mexico,  Rhode Island, Vermont, and Wyoming.  Anyone in those states interested?  Info is below and there is a vid and more at improvingbirth.org Jennifer   A Full Scale Birth Revolution on Labor Day September 3, 2012 10am-12noon Take Action!  We need women, men...

Oh, and wanted to note that my daughter seems to be matching me- last 2 days have not been good for me or her.
I'm looking for this info as well.  I've had copper IUD's 3 times and wasn't too bad with the 1st two, but the 3rd was horrific.  My period got much better, soon as I took it out, but now my period is back after only about 2 weeks, my morning temp's are super low (I chart for fertility), and I'm having clear indicators that I have thyroid issues.  I really need to detox.  Any help with finding a treatment list would be great.  I am still nursing, so I would have to work...
Sorry, I didn't notice that the group is secret.  If you friend me on FB, I can add you to it.  You can find me at John Jennifer Jeppson  I'm pretty sure there are some Dickinson members, so a good place to go for questions about the area!
Sorry I can't offer much new info, just support.  My hubby has been sick for 10 years and was just diagnosed about 3 mths ago and started treatment end of last month.  We're in Idaho Falls and ended up being diagnosed by a podiatrist (he's the premier Lyme specialist in the area because he and his daughter have it, so he educated himself and started a campaign to educate others).  We ended up having to go to Colorado Springs for treatment (podiatrists license doesn't...
Just wanted to add a little more info- Freida Miller is an Ohio midwife that was arrested for practicing medicine without a license.  I'd suggest reading From Calling to Courtroom- it's a free e-book that speaks about the legal status of midwifery and includes stories and info from midwives that have been arrested and attorney's that explain the law (in some cases, the attorneys and midwives that were previously arrested are one and the same, so they def know what they...
Actually, it's not incorrect.  Ohio has no laws exempting domiciliary midwifery from the Medical Practices Act, so that means midwifery falls under it's guidelines.  And it's guidelines state that no unlicensed person may provide obstetric care.  It's why some Ohio midwives have been arrested in the past and why they are open to arrest again in the future.  A lot of people in the midwifery world believe that a state can be  "alegal", meaning midwifery is not legally...
Mandi, if you are very technical (and states tend to get that way) then midwifery in Ohio is illegal due to obstetrics being covered by the Medical Practice Act.  That being said, you can still become a midwife but unless you become a nurse midwife (which don't practice at home in Ohio) you would have to go through the direct entry route.  So, apprenticing yourself to one of the 9 or so midwives in the state and doing your training with them and your learning through...
