have you tried a smoothie of sorts before she's out of bed? I've recently given my 6 yr old one before she gets up to get ready for school b/c she was such a bear (and she eats about 6PM and wakes about 7A, so not as long)
sitting on another breastfeeding support group, I can tell you that the blood b/c of either OS (lactose overload) or b/c of protein sensitivity is not that uncommon...not super common but common enough to see moms dealing w/ it weekly (a given pedi might only come across it a few times a year).  If its just specs of blood now w/ what you are doing and baby seems fine otherwise, I would just keep doing what you are doing. If you start to see more, either try cutting out...
I think trying to be around other families w/ their kids in their comfortable environment would help put it perspective. My oldest is our hardest one and I can see how differently (tempted to say normally) my middle kid is evolving compared to her. He has his own issues too but not the same magnitude of difficulty.  I'm not sure if you are worried about physical abilities or behavioral things...if its physical and eventually she gets to where you'd expect her to be, I'd be...
I have 3 too so reading all the replies wasn't possible...two thoughts 1. get your kiddo into the child psych department for some evals and challenging-kid classes. you'll feel better just to have someone else on your team..it doesn't mean medicating but it could me recognizing something like ODD and/or SPD. Having a 6 yr old that just makes our whole family miserable, I wished I'd gotten help earlier b/c it takes awhile to find the right help (we are still looking). 2....
I should reread Mary's books. I have been tempted to set up a telecounsel w/ her. Thanks for the reminder. I do think at least part of its sleep issues but not all b/c she can have woken up on her own after 11 hrs and still be like this.
well, compared to my 3 yr old, she is pretty easy going on the sensory issues, clothing wise (my son is the kid that went w/out shoes and socks for a year b/c of sensory issues) but  I suppose food wise...she's extremely limited and talks about how it either needs to be dry or wet and when she wants it dry, it better be dry (rice cake). She had had sensitivities to noise and crowds in preschool and kinder but I don't see that as much now at 6/1st. I was talking to her...
I do also deal w/ controlling my emotions too so I know some if its the nurture/nature thing (there are many days where I have a sore spot on my tongue from biting it in attempt to control my own fury). We start her worry group tomorrow. I chatted w/ the leader of a small psych-lead support group I attend (who has a background in child psych). HE thought some things I described sounded Asperger-ish and she tested high on a paper I filled out for her on social and...
she's been like this and getting progressively worse since 2 so I don't think its an allergy perse but I do sometimes think blood sugar and definitely tiredness play a role. She is so out of tune w/ tiredness...just doesn't register/can't give in unless she's been up 13+ hrs or in a car. We do aim for about 10-11 hrs of sleep per night. When its 10, its obvious. I did play therapy back when she was 4 and she didn't seem to improve although she LOVED going at 95 dollars a...
I'm feeling at a loss on what to do w/ my 6 yr old daughter. She's always been spirited but now she's just down right angry all the time and when she's not angry, she's worried. She's afraid of growing up so much so that she will cry/scream before bed once a week about not wanting to grow up but at the same time, she says her current life is stupid.  I cannot get her to say why, she just says its stupid over and over. She has freak outs and obsesses over so many...
okay, need a place to process my thoughts. I was just Dx w/ strep two days ago. I took my son, almost 3 yrs, in to be checked b/c he said his throat hurt (but he fairly often says this). So it was a new doc and he must fear looking at a kids throats b/c he said if child has a sore throat and has been exposed they often just treat w abx.  so he never even looked at sons throat. he did check his ears and said they appeared bulging, thus ear infection but he doesn't...
