Did his wife actually say this in front of him?
And is she experienced with providing oral sex to men who are not intact?
That's what I'd want to know if I was FIL.
I can't imagine what's different unless the intact man is not retractile.
A great benefit is the wonderful sensitivity of an intact man's body!
But then, there are women, and maybe men, who just do not enjoy oral sex, so it could be that...

Good point, Sarah. I like that--"I was a helpless, naked baby and a strange man touched my penis with his knife. . ." I know I've seen a picture of a man holding a sign to the effect that a baby boy's first experience. . . ah, I can't remember. . . So, anyhow someone goes on Howard Stern with 'toys' to demonstrate, and someone else goes on to talk about restoration enthusiastically--gains in sensations, etc. Hmmn. . . are there restoration techniques for...

Show them one of those awful circumcison videos all the Bradley instructors show. And, if you all are in California, he'll 'look different' from most of the kids only if he's not intact. Duh, Dad. But of course, there will be another rationalization to replace that one.

I was just going to post the link myself. Seems like many 'professionals' are saying that the choice should be the child's--wait until they grow up, etc. There was also a great deal of discussion about loss of sexual sensation. Maybe a change is coming. . . The New York Times > Fashion & Style > When Gender Isn't a Given: http://www.nytimes.com/2004/09/19/fashion/19INTE.html (I noticed that it was in Fashion & Style, myself, though it was cross-referenced to...

Of course, you could just send it to one of us & we could mail it to her from our state!

Love it! I say go for it, girl. It's a great 'cause' and intact is very sexy--get that message out there! But then, I think "Bigger IS Better! Stop Circumcision." would be a great bumper sticker, too. . .

Well, maybe she's like my relative who doesn't need to work for the money but just prefers to 'get away' from the kids. She has four of them and parenting isn't really her thing. It used to really bother me how she went back to work when her babies were 2 weeks old, or sent them abroad for 9 months at a stretch when they were toddlers. Now I realize that they are probably better off where they are than they would be if they were at home with her. At least they...

Just weighing in that I don't think 3 weeks early can cause this kind of thing. Usually the last three weeks they are gaining weight, but the genitals should be completely formed by then. (I know that most midwives consider 37 weeks fairly safe--don't know what the hospital/medical types say). Tell them to leave him whole, intact and natural and see what happens. I don't think that even the most devout circumcision apologists will harm true 'preemies'. I would...

adopt a baby boy even if he had been circed? YES, but changing his diapers and seeing his damaged penis would be very hard and sad let your daughters marry men who are circed? YES, I'm hopefully raising her to be the kind of person who could love another despite their not being intact. I would feel sad for them and hope that she protected my grandchildren let your 12 yr old make the decision to get circed? NO, but then I wouldn't let him/her drink alcohol at...
