Oh I'm so sorry to hear you have Fibro. I'm a chronic fatigue sufferer myself (who also has OCD ) so I can sympathize with what you've said. I ideally like to vacuum and mop all floors on a daily basis and it's all the little bits of clutter that really get to me - paper, strewn toys etc.. Seeing too much in any given spot motivates me to declutter. I physically cannot stand to be surrounded by stuff. Like I said before, I convince myself that the current state of...

Thanks so much for sharing that page - Lots of pretty pics there. :) How awesome that your dad built bed frames for you both! I can't wait till my children's beds are set up so that I can utilize the space underneath. I love for stuff to be organized and contained too! Organizing afterwards is one of my favorite parts of decluttering actually.

I'm not sure how much you can spend, but my top inexpensive yet elegant and practical gifts would be the following.. -Wine and champagne (one good quality bottle is better than two cheap ones). Present it in a beautiful gift box for more oompf (not a gift bag). -Elegant SS photo frame with the names engraved onto it -Monogrammed 'His and Her" towels presented in a beautiful gift box with bow -Willow tree "couple" figurine (not so practical, but quite lovely and...

Hi Kimberley! :) I can definitely relate to what you've said. Clutter really effects me too, but somehow I manage to convince myself that it's simply a better housekeeping issue (rather than an actual clutter issue) - which is soooo wrong of me! It is commendable that you've chosen to move in with and look after your grandmother.

Thank you for sharing your own experience with this issue, Sarafi. :) I should note that I have very strong opinions regarding this issue :) I will still aim to keep things even because I do think it creates resentment in the end. I would like to think it doesn't, but apart from my own sister's complaining, I've heard stories from close friends on how their parents "gave X to their sibling and they didn't get anything like that". One might think that it's simply general...

Wishing you the best of luck mama! You can do it. It really is so hard during the process.. but the feeling afterwards is so I have to pretend as though I'm looking in from the outside on another person's life and clearing their clutter for them. Kid stuff is hardest for me to part with, so I involve my kids in the process and let them decide on what stays and goes. They have become good declutterers as a result, yet I still struggle (probably because I'm trying to...

I just discovered some new motivation for decluttering. We've just packed up all the stuff in our lounge room in order to renovate that particular room. We also cleared our kitchen island (which was a massive disaster) and BOOM instant stress reduction. We blew up some balloons, put the music up and I don't think I've seen the kids this happy in a very long time. There is space to just be. I feel like I am in my own real life version of the show...

Thank you so much ladies. As pathetic as this sounds, this is the first time I've actively saved for such a large purchase. I usually take the easy route and turn to interest free finance to pay for any appliances. If it weren't for these boards, I wouldn't have felt so inspired to diligently save and purchase the air con outright. It's something I plan on doing forever now (for any future purchases). So thank you to you all. :)
