Yay! Merry Christmas! So thankful for you, Jesus!
Thank you, Nazsmum, for your prayer! I keep asking God how a little baby can be so difficult and challenging already. But I know my daughter is special and unique--she already gives us so many special blessings each day--and the challenging things are just part of the deal. God is good and gave us the right baby at the right time. And he also gave her the right parents. I know all of these things in my heart. I just wish I could recall them in the middle of the night when...
Does Mint link to your online banking? Or do you have to update it with purchase info., like you would a checkbook ledger? It would be great to have something that auto-updated. However, I would probably wonder about security... I'm having a hard time budgeting for all of our day to day purchases. It would be way harder if I went to cash in envelopes, I think, and had no online accountability.
A specialist trying to help us with DD's sleep lent me the "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child" book. I've been against reading it because it boils down to versions of CIO. However, I've found lots of other helpful information about sleep rhythms during the day, nap time goals, etc. If you read it, just literally ignore the any CIO advice you see. For example, the author says even babies who appear to be pretty well rested but resistant to sleep could be over tired and...
How'd it go, 4GreenBabies?I've read that the tea is fine as early as baby is taking water. I would have felt comfortable giving my DD a couple of syringe-fulls in the evening hours. We gave her probiotics from 6 weeks. I would have mixed tea with that.
She naps on my chest attached to the breast, which all causes me anxiety and physical discomfort. Her latch has always been shallow and painful but not enough to stop nursing (and IBCLCs have no idea how to help). Combined with the fact that I'm not a good napper. I've always had issues falling asleep during the day, which is usually a good thing, but it has made catching up on sleep impossible. But yesterday and today we've been working on her going to sleep after...
Thank you, 3lilchunklins! That's a good suggestion. We actually have one of those vaporizers. The humidifier we have bubbles and makes too much noise in her room, so the vaporizer would be a good alternative! DD went through a regression at 8 months that we've never recovered from. We were buying a house and moving at the time so we did what we could to get by. However, now at 15 months, our marriage and mental health are suffering. But we're trying to change things for...
When DH and I were dating, my MIL gave me three belly shirts with embarrassing or pointless phrases on them (ex: I heart fire fighters). Literal belly shirts--only enough fabric to cover the chest. I'm not even remotely a "belly shirt" person. DH said MIL really enjoys wearing them around the house. I had never even seen one up close. Haha. On DH's ardent suggestion, I tactfully (or so I thought) gave one of them back to her. She chewed me out for it then and there. I told...
Nazsmum: thanks for asking about OT. It's going pretty well. The therapist and another MDC user inspired us to try getting her into her crib at night. That's going ok but with difficult lows. My patience is so fried from 8 months of baby sleeping on my chest that I explode easily. Embarrassing to say but true... I keep praying for help in the middle of the night when she's upset and nothing I do calms her. Ah! So hard. Sorry, we just had a miserable night last night so I'm...
Hi Jakesmama! I'm at the same point as you. Will you tell me more about Mint? I've heard it mentioned, but what do you like about it?
