It would be interesting to know if they are also excluding other people with possible issues.   Kids with allergies, astham, adhd…..   Quite frankly, that would be way more concerning on a hike than a non-vaccinated...

I think you are focusing on the wrong things.  Do not let them set the tone of what to focus on.   If you are discussing herd immunity, I would not do it from a scientific POV - where I think it is a bit of a wash....
