Hi there, vaxing is not mandatory but if you use a doctor as your primary health care provider they always try to put a lot of pressure on you just the usual scare tactics etc. You wont be refused health care if you dont vax and I've generally had no issues in this area only a few snide remarks from the odd nurse! You have to apply for a certificate of exemption to homeschool in which you will have to show that your child will be 'taught at least as regulkarly and as...
We live in a intentional community that are about VS, I also read recently the Catholic worker book 'Loaves and Fishes' which encouraged me in my convictions. VS is an empowering place to be, to be able to survive on what the wolrd sees as an income below the poverty line and still have more than enough. I am involved with people who are welfare dependant or live in poor communities who would be rich in the eyes of thos living in slums in India for example. Involuntary...

Great Story! My sister and I both had our first babies at 19 and we both breastfed them, I lost count of the time older mums, health professionals etc almost fell over with shock when they knew I was breastfeeding! It is so easy for young mums not to feed when there is the expectation that they won't.
Have to share this, I was discussing where we would be spending christmas day with my ds, he started jumping on the bed saying he cant wait till christmas, I agreed, thinking he was excited because of the gifts he would be getting, then he said its so exciting because its Jesus' birthday!
How far along are you? Can you find a midwife who you feel comfortable with? What are the chances of your baby being tongue tied? I have had contact with heaps of mothers over the years and this is the first I;ve ever heard of tongue clipping, sounds scary! Remember when people are trying to pressure us, guilt trip our choice they usually bombard us with worst case scenarios.
My little guy is 6 too and I almost cried reading this, I know how my darling would feel in this situation. There are so many issues surrounding their locked door policy something definitly needs to be said. My son was involved in an incident when he first started and I defifintly let my emotions get the better of me and I gave the teacher the big 'what up'! They might think im an irrational overprotective mum but they sure as hell changed their policy straight away!
Halloween is a fairly new thing in my country I was aware of it as a child but no one ToT'd now as it becomes more commercialised people are taking part. Even though I am a christian and that is the main reason we dont take part in the celebrations I am seriously irritated about the how its marketed, its all about the money now! To me the more my country becomes 'Americanised' the more popular Halloween becomes thats why I hate it so much.
