In my family it would be totally normal and not something that would bother me at all, but I trust that things are different in your family. try not to let it bother you
Welcome! (MDC is not just one big mindmeld!)
The puppy is a spaniel mix. He never barks though-ever! I thought that was a good thing, but it wont ward off burglars. He whines plenty though. He definitely is not scary looking! The puppy is really my daughter's dog. She'll be getting her own place this summer and she's taking the puppy with her.
What about the dog from the Truth about Cats and dogs?
I guess what I am looking for is a dog that looks scary, but is really very gentle. I want a dog that I can walk around the neighborhood and people will think, I wouldnt mess with that dog. Is a mastiff the dog from Turner and Hooch? Eta: Our lease says these dogs are not allowed: "Rottweiler, Doberman, Pit Bull, German Shepherd, Akita, Chow, and similar aggressive varieties."
Id like to get a dog for protection, but it cant be a pitbull, rottweiler, german shepherd. Those breeds are not allowed where I live. Any suggestions? Id really like to go to the shelter for the dog.
I am Black, but I have very light skin plus my husband is white and my children are like a cafe au lait color lol. We get a lot of questions about our ethnicity/race. I really dont mind it at all, but if someone asked my brother he would get really bent out of shape. He thinks people want to know so they can create a hierarchy. I dont know if he's right about that, but just know some people, like him, will be offended if you ask.
Before they become life long behaviors-or drive me completely nuts!!! We have a 4 month old puppy and he's always biting us. I can be sitting at the computer and he'll try to bite my toes or as one of the little ones walks by he chases him jumps up at him and tries to nibble on them. So the two behaviors are the biting/mouthing and the jumping up (especially on the little ones). Ive tried giving him things to chew on and thats not working. When he bites Ive been...
I'm a WOC. I used to have dreads and recently shaved my head. It really, truly does not bother me when non-POC have dreads. I really don't know the whole history behind it. And I don't want to make assumptions. I guess I also just have other things to worry about.
Usually I just no and we move on, but after 9-11-01 it seemed every store I went to was asking and people would get downright rude if I said no.
