Hi, thanks for your reply.  No, I wouldn't have expected him to lie, and really I kind of make fun of the expectation that he should've said the perfect thing with my How dare he paragraph. He's 4, after all, and a boy, and was caught off guard by my eagerly-wanting-his approval daughter.  No harm, no foul...EXCEPT that this is my daughter that came home completely crushed, so no matter how ridiculous, it evokes a certain reaction in me as a parent.  The video clip I use...

Days before my wedding, I was set to impress my soon to be mother-in-law.  Mission accomplished.  I definitely left an impression...just not the right one.  Read about my embarrassing experience: http://stripedleftsock.weebly.com/1/post/2013/10/who-let-the-stank-out.html
As they're learning more about themselves and the world around them, they seem to test their limits (and ours!) Read more about how I deal with a toddler in his terrible twos (and the rest of my brood) at http://stripedleftsock.weebly.com/1/post/2013/10/yes-no-yesno.html
 Thanks so much!
 Thanks, Tracyamber!
Yoga pants are like my post-work uniform.  No doubt about it.  You can set the time clock for 90 seconds from the time I walk in the door. :)
