I am comfortable with them as well. The eggs come out brighter using regular food coloring and vinegar (the recipe is on the box), you just don't get the egg dippers. You can use a white crayon to decorate before dipping as well.
We call our oldest son (now 8 1/2) Little Man, and we have since he was born. After having 3 girls in a row my dh was thrilled to finally have a son and the name just stuck. All the kids have nick names though...I wonder what everyone thinks when we call our youngest ds "Stinky", my 2yr old calls him Handsome Boy. We call Katie, Katie Lady and have since she was born. We have Ree Ree, Sissy, Selsa, Na Na and Rocco Taco (just because it rhymes).
My poor sister has an MIL that is...well dumber than rocks. My sister just had a baby about a week ago, the day after she was up and walking around a bit. Her MIL rushed into the hospital room and told her that if she didn't lie down her uterus would FALL OUT!
When my sister told me that later she and I about died laughing. I think the laughing hurt more than the walking.
My midwife puts in in a Ziplock bag and then leaves it up to the client to do with it as they please. She suggests that if you don't want to bury it to toss it in the garbage on trash day.
We actually lived in an apartment complex when I had my first homebirth. I kept it in the freezer for months because I didn't want to toss it in the dumpster. But when we moved about 3 hours away I didn't want to move it. By then I knew what day they emptied the dumpsters and...
My boys only sleep in their underwear (baby in his diaper). My almost 3 yr old dd is diaper only as well. I see nothing wrong with it, but I don't let them sleep completely nude because they usually have another (one of the older kids) person in bed with them that would feel uncomfortable.
I am sort of in the same situation. My little sister just gave birth to her first baby, he was premature. But some of the things that happened in the hospital would NOT have happened had I been the one birthing. She is so fine with it all and feels like she "saved" her ds. While I do agree that she needed to be a hospital birth with a preemie, I don't agree with injecting dye into the amniotic fluid to see if it leaks out to make sure her water had broke.
All of my kids have had bruises on their shins, some of my very active older ones still do (meaning even my almost 14 yr old dd). I wouldn't worry about it unless they were causing pain or seem not to heal.
We are using...

What is our schedule... well it depends on the day. This week has been a bit crazy with...
s We just got over the flu at our house. Dh and seven out of the eight kids got it all within days of each other. I am 26 weeks along and was so thankful that I didn't get it and my 1 ds that didn't get it was avoiding everyone like the plague because he had a huge Cub Scout trip the weekend after everyone started coming down with it.
I wanted to add too that while I had my ds in the ER there was another little one there with a rash they couldn't identify. Turned...
