Here are the things I do/did (my kids are older). Bike to work. Run with baby in jogger. Workout to videos at home. Lunchtime walks. Weight watchers for nursing moms. Good luck! I gained and lost 50 pounds both times. The first it just came off but the second I had to work at it. It took some time but the deed got done.
You sound like my husband Is that a Hahns in the pic? One of my coworkers has a yellow collar and it's simply adorable. Love those big birds in small packages! I love all the budgies together. What a great pic! And your Moki is gorgeous. I wanted a Sun Conure for the longest time...then I met a room full of them - oh wait - there were only two. Jendays are a bit quieter, aren't they? It's great to hear from some other bird folks! Quote: Originally Posted by USAmma There are a few bird people here. Your bird Dixon looks so sweet! Pictures? Twist my arm : http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f5...47_7747702.jpg Dixon eating a nut. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f5...59_1756992.jpg Hanging out with dd. She's a total shoulder bird, something that you have to be careful of with many birds as they prefer to be dominant and being on a shoulder gives them that ability. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f5...50_7300674.jpg Dixon with...

Just curious how many crazy bird people are here? I had budgies as a child and then a really angry cockatiel in college. After that I often thought about getting a bird but just never did. My husband fostered large parrots before we met and brought that passion with him when we married. We fostered parrots and had three of our own. When our dd was born we lived in a smallish apartment and her little lungs couldn't handle the dander from three birds (Blue Front...
I know this is an old thread but I just popped onto it and had to post a little pic we call "Where's the bird?" http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f5...resthebird.jpg Actually our cat and parrot get along fine. They are quite interested in eachother yet tentative at the same time.
Just do your research. Birds are great, my favorite of all pets, but as others have mentioned they are perpetual 2yo's. We've fostered and owned parrots for many years. Right now we just have one, a 10yo Blue Front Amazon who is delightful. I'm fighting the urge to get a blue masked lovebird....fighting it hard. When we fostered we had so many birds around and well....now...we don't need any more birds. I repeat, we don't need any more birds! eta: I just watched...
Definitely. Sounds like a great idea!
Thanks, Nina, for the recipes! I've put a few up on SparkPeople that I"ll share. If you can't get to them without creating an account I'm happy to post them here. Chickpea Masala - 6pts per serving (rice adds more) http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recip...?recipe=471226 Shrimp in Saffron Broth - 5 pts per serving - this is AMAZING and it was quite filling! I was trying to recreate a dish I saw on that Gwenyth Paltrow, Mark Bittman travel/food show. They were in...
