blanket?
I just did my first pair of 2-at-a-time socks, and I used addi turbos in the 40" lenght -- I am, however, going to get some of the addi lace 47" instead for the next pair. I've heard that the cable is much nicer on the lace needles.
WEBS also carries Valley Yarns Berkshire -- its a heavy worsted wool/alpaca blend that costs $5 per ball (3.5oz) and is discountable. Only solid colors, but it would put you under $100. http://yarn.com/webs/0/0/0/0-1001-1294-1323/0/0/1637/
I have done the puffy paint -- I've also used Elmer's Rubber Cement -- paint it on - let it dry. Faster even than the puffy paint. Word of caution -- be sure you are in a well-ventilated area to use it... it has very strong fumes.
Three Irish Girls has a learn to dye kit. She stocked sometimes at Universal Mama (on hyenacart).
Galenas merino from Three Irish Girls is GREAT! Any of her yarns are super soft, but the Galenas is like butter.
The short rows on the Longies are different than the short rows on the Picky pants. I have made both, but I'm not sure if I have a picture -- I will look.
pm'ing ya...
I really like the baby cable cuff for a girl. When done, it sorta/almost/kinda looks like little hearts. I have changed the ruffle cuff when I do ruffle. I wasn't crazy about it either, but with some slight mods, I like it better. http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a15...Picture491.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a15...Picture581.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a15...ewborn2ffa.jpg
I gave my son's therapists washcloths and handmade soaps last year when he finished his in-home therapy. I folded the washcloths, placed the soap on them, and then wrapped them in a coordinating tissue taper -- I tied it closed with another piece of the yarn from the washcloth. Here's a picture: http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a15...Picture531.jpg
