Had no problems with my younger daughter's pre-school and older daughter's elementary school here in Illinois. In IL we do have to write a letter though detailing our religious beliefs and why they are in conflict with childhood immunizations but we always just turn the letter in and so far haven't had any problems
Ok, I am freaking out now because I just got an e-mail from my supervisor stating that both regular flu shots and the H1N1 flu shots are now mandatory at the hospital that I am a per diem employee at. It has a brief sentence about religious exemptions but I'm confused....I've written religious exemption letters for my children's schools, would it be the same for me? This makes me so angry I can't believe I'm being "forced" to have 2 flu shots. I wonder if there would be...

My dd is in the 2-3 toddler room at a montessori school so they do change diapers in her class...However, I was told when I first came to inquire and observe at her school that when she moves up to the 3-6 class she MUST be potty trained. So, while dd is still young, I have that in the back of my mind and plan to really 'encourage' her to use the potty when she's 2.5. I'd much rather allow her to learn at her own pace, however I have to temper that with the fact that she...
My dd is younger than your dd, she's just over 2. This week was the first week we 'separated' and both of the days she went, she cried when the assistant came to get her out of the car. The first day, my dd cried for probably 20 minutes and then calmed down, but just layed down on her blanket until pick-up. The second day, within a few minutes, dd stopped crying and was sitting on the floor doing a puzzle with the other children and I believe she was fine until I picked...
Amy, so glad to hear things are going better for you and Quinn too! I give so much credit to those preschool teachers. They must have nerves of steel! :LOL I live just west of Midway airport. flyingspahettimama- I agree, the other children crying and screaming, etc WAS disturbing and if dd was like that I would have had to intervene. There was two other moms who checked on their kids right at the beginning of the morning and then left ...the rest of the moms didn't...
DD did much better than anticipated today, as today was the first day of separation! As we were pulling up to her school in the car, dd saw the other children being escorted out of their cars and taken into school and she started to panic a bit, crying, saying "Mommy hold me, Daddy hold me" but dh and I remained upbeat and waved goodbye. As soon as we rounded the corner, I fell to pieces and started sobbing. I felt horrible! After I had calmed down and was sure all...
That's great news Tine! How wonderful for you and your son!
Oh Lylia, right back at you! I appreciate you sharing your experience, especially since your ds is close to the same age as my dd. It's so hard watching them like that, isn't it? It sounds like maybe your ds and my dd just aren't ready for the separation yet. I can relate about the not sleeping, I haven't been able to fall asleep for the past several nights either. Let me know how it goes with your ds too, Ok? I wonder if anyone here knows whether 2 year olds, in...
Thanks for your response, OhTheThinks! I wish my dd's school had a Mommy and me program! That would be perfect! Dh and I have been extremely upbeat and excited when preapring dd and talking about school, but she just seems to be going through this really intense separation anxiety. Part of could be that she has never been away from home and never with anyone else besides dh and I, and occassionally grandma at our house. I'm going to allow the "trial" separation on Monday...
