(xposted on preteen & teens) I have been offline for 2 days now. I spent about $100 and numerous hours trying to get back online because of a hacker. It seems that my 18 yo dd had been downloading music from a file sharing site. One of the files she downloaded had a virus. The virus enabled someone to take control of my computer and email account. They spammed hundreds of thousands of email accounts with pornography, etc. Also destroyed some of my software. I...
I am VERY picky about what our dd eats. Her diet consists of mostly organic food. She does not like meat, and that is OK with me since her diet is very well rounded (brown rice, whole wheat pasta, fruits, veggies, beans, yogurt). I have ALWAYS taken her food to her daycare. My daycare provider is fine with it. But I am also fine with the occassional chocolate chip cookie that my daycare provider homebakes from scratch. Or the occassional piece of cake. And...
hydrangea, maybe perfect is more a state of mind? My marriage is what I would call perfect. We've been together almost 6 years, married almost 4. For both, it is our second marriage. He's a widow and I had a really bad 1st one (ex dh was verbally abusive, substance abuser, etc). Luckily I got out quickly before it had too much impact on my self-esteem and more importantly the self-esteem of my now 18 year old dd. Dh & I have a very high spirited 2 year old dd...
I LOVE Neil. We have tickets to see him at a small venue on August 9th. Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!! It's always fun to take newbies to Neil's concerts along because they always expect the oldies. He never just plays the old stuff. ANd usually they are blown away by his new stuff. (oh, except the one concert I saw that was all computer generated...you really had to be a Neil fan for that one) It will be my dh's 15th live Neil performance (that's JUsT Neil, not...
Now what was that blindfold on Lady Justice for??????????? http://www.commondreams.org/headlines03/0717-02.htm Quote: Republican state attorneys general in at least six states telephoned corporations or trade groups subject to lawsuits or regulations by their state governments to solicit hundreds of thousands of dollars in political contributions, according to internal fundraising documents obtained by The Washington Post. Quote: The...
http://www.commondreams.org/views03/0708-01.htm From Norman Mailer's The White Man Unburdended Quote: The intensity of the falsification could best be seen as a reflection of the enormous damage 9/11 has brought to America's morale, particularly the core—the corporation. All the organization people high and low, managers, division heads, secretaries, salesmen, accountants, market specialists, all that congeries of corporate office American, plus all who...
We do naked time, too. Inside & outside. We limit the nakedness to the backyard, however, since it has a fence and that is where all the toys are. We also use a swim diaper for the baby pool for sanitary reasons. But after she gets out, or if she is just playing in the sprinkler, she's naked. We have mosquitoes, too, but she doesn't get too many bites. Only a few so far this summer. And we do use sunscreen. Nature's Gate or California Baby. She's got a great tan...
I've been outta the loop the last 2 weeks because of family visisting from out of town and my dh was on vacation. My computer time was very limited and honestly, I was afraid to get on the scale with all the extra calories I was consuming! I was still exercising, though, and probably a good thing because I didn't gain any weight back and have actually lost a pound! Starting weight:150 Last time I posted: 145 Today: 144 Goal: 135 My height: 5'9" Hopefully I...
Miriam, I did a search on Gena Corea and came up with this review from Sojourner: The women's forum: http://www.princeton.edu/~wws320/Sec...tility/Fem.htm Written in 1985 when the book was published, this review is written from a feminist's perspective. I did not find specific reference to the procedure in the article above but the review is quite interesting.
I agree that drugs will be used as much or more if they are more readily available. However, I think much of the criminal activity associated with selling and distributing illegal drugs could be curtailed with different drug laws, not necessarily total legalization. Changing marijuana laws alone by decriminalizing it would cut down considerably on the violence associated with selling & distributing the drug. In the era of prohibition, criminal activity was high...
