For a few months over the summer, I realized I was spending between $500 and $600 on groceries, which shocked me, because I used to spend about $250.  Since I made that realization, I've been meal planning a month at a time and really making sure I don't waste any food (which involves chopping and freezing veggies that are close to going bad).  My grocery costs have gone down to about $300/month for the last couple months because of these changes.  I make a big Costco...

Nice job on the decluttering!  I realized the same thing about the books I had and ended up getting rid of a ton of them recently too.  I didn't have a huge amount to begin with, so I didn't really get rid of a huge quantity, but it was still nice to thin out my stash!  What I did realize was that I was holding on to a lot of kids books "in case my kids want to read them," however, I realized that the only books they really read are from the library (we go about once a...
I deleted my FB account in March and it was SUCH a great decision for me!  I get sucked in WAY too easily and can't handle having access to that much information about people!  Amazingly enough, people still call or text me and let me know when fun things are going on, so I don't miss out on a whole lot by not being on there ;)
Thanks!  I can't claim credit for the idea--saw it mentioned in a post in the decluttering forum ;)  I really thought they'd get rid of more for money, though--lol!   10/1:  no spend  10/2:  no spend  10/3:  no spend  10/4:  no spend  10/5:  no spend    10/6:  budgeted spending  gas $40, windshield wiper $13   10/7:  budgeted spending  groceries $41 10/8:  no spend  10/9:  no spend  10/10: no spend  10/11: no spend  10/12: no spend    10/13: budgeted spending  groceries...
Just checked amazon (good thinking!) and found this:  http://www.amazon.com/C8727AN-C8728AN-Remanufactured-Cartridges-Hewlett-Packard/dp/B000VSHX6A/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1350865161&sr=8-6&keywords=hp+ink+cartridge+28   $11.50?!  I'm gonna try it out and see how they work.

Great ideas...thanks!!  I will totally freeze them.  In other exciting news, DD is going to her friend's birthday party in just a little while and I whipped up a little purse for her (it's adorable, if I do say so myself ;)) instead of going out to buy a present!
Does anyone have any great sources for cheap or discounted printer cartridges?  I have an HP 3520 printer and the ink is just about out.  I'm figuring there must be some websites that sell them for cheaper than Target or those office supply stores (where I usually get them out of convenience).  TIA!
